Antique French Metis sheeting is a blend of linen and cotton and possesses the best qualities of both fibers...the cool and drape of linen for great sleeping, and comfort and durability of cotton.
Vintage French metis sheet in white medium to heavy linen and cotton blend is finished with a hand embroidered monogram, "RD". The top hem is turned up instead of under, as was common in household French linen, to facilitate the pressing process. An original ink "mark" on the bottom hem tells us a previous owner was surname "Del Four". A few small stray marks, shown below, are the only flaws. Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition. 79" X 124" c.1930's
