Antique Linen Nightdress Case

The antique linen is homespun but even and clear of flaws in this mid 18th century night dress case. It has been entirely hand assembled. The back is hand embroidered in a checkerboard pattern with real gold floss that has tarnished with age. There is evidence of further embroidery in golden silk floss that has worn away with the years. The front of the piece is monogrammed in faded golden silk olde English, "AER". The fringes are perfect and hand knotted. The front has a bit of age that is barely visible, identified with arrows in a photo, below. c.1750's
This piece has been hand laundered with the best textile conservator's techniques. 10.5" X 14" plus 1.25" fringe
