Antique Christening Gown with Nun's Pleats

Lovely antique christening gown is trimmed with rows and rows of nuns pleats and hand made lace. This is a simple and elegant example of a late 19th century infant's gown with is hand, or home, made of chambray cotton and embellished with hand made lace and pin tucks, called Nun's pleats back then. It is in remarkable condition except for 3 tiny pin dot holes on the top of one sleeve, buried within the gathers, one missing button on the back and one or two breaks in the bottom lace. Many of the details are hand sewn. It is in sturdy condition and is entirely wearable. Creamy white. Excellent condition, freshly laundered and pressed. c.1880's Sleeve -- 10" Chest -- 20" Full length -- 26"
