Aaaddorable! An antique Matelasse was too wonderful to toss and was rescued for this lovely teddy bear "suit". This teddy is a she -- a bear-oness of great distinction but really, cute is the name, he or she, don't you think?? My favorite is the V neck, second only to the swoosh of flowing hair across her forehead. Two remnants of age remain from the original coverlet. One is cleverly hidden on Teddy's bum and the is other where an eye would have been placed. Both are shown below. I found a wee bit of surface smudge on the back of an ear...otherwise she is in excellent condition. Reeaaally sweet...in need of a place of honor in a good home. She comes with a sassy burgundy red velvet bow and a second sheer cafe couture organdy for a change of mood and formality. Pretty to look at, cuddle with and show off...but not a toy for children. Coverlet is c.1890...but bear-onesses never give their age. 15" tall seated
