Using the 19th century English Kensington stitch, each piece demonstrates the best techniques for shading and padding in embroidery designs that reflect realistic and natural elements.
Embroidered motto pillow tops were a favorite of Victorian embroideresses...their colorful patterns and whimsical sayings were cheerful and uplifting additions to everyday decor.
