Fabulous Edwardian silk and French Alencon lace wedding dress is entirely hand sewn. The silk peplum is trimmed with a deep lace flounce and finished with a handmade silk tassel. The waist is finished with a fixed cumberbun style belt and faux silk self-rose. The silk is patterned with flowers and swirls that match elements in the Alencon lace. The dress is structurally sound but the inner waist band is in poor shape as are the structural roping "stays" in the bodice. These would need to be replaced. There is minor age on the silk and a tiny tear in the very corner of the train.
Given the condition of the inner structure this piece is recommend for display only...or it could be dismantled and the lace used in a contemporary piece. The lace is just about perfect, with just a very few breaks in an area on one sleeve...Heavenly design...grand for your foo foo parlor display too. The lace is absolutely amazing. Ivory in color. Offered for display or parts, as found, in good condition. c.1910 - 1920 contemporary size 2 -- waist 22" - 23", bust 32".
