Italian cream linen boudoir sham or nightdress case is beautifully designed with hand made Reticella needlelace inserts that form a bottom border and central panel for the monogram. The front and back are attached with needlelace that shows when the pillow or nightdress is inserted -- Oh, the details!! The envelope close was once tied with wide silk ribbons (imagine!) that were threaded through opposite handmade loops, shown below. A central monogram is layered like those of royalty and was executed entirely by hand. Pristinely Edwardian but not too understated for the foo foo at heart...an amazing piece. Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition. c.1900 - 1920. 13.5" X 19"
