Delightfully old antique lace bonnet is heavily embroidered by hand on machine net and is entirely hand sewn as an infant's bonnet. The design is executed with a needle run chain stitch (tambour) and is finished with channel run cording to adjust the size at the neck and brim. There are several small single break holes in the net along the bottom edge and loose threads at the finish of a form here and there. A fabulous example for collectors and entirely usable if you dare...Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition, as described. c.1800 - 1820.
