The original Foo Foo purse...
Nearly perfect antique silk taffeta French purse is embroidered with silk roses and trumpet lilies in the fine chain stitch style of D. Porthault. It is gloriously finished with a filigree, beaded and enameled close and beaded clasp. The inside is gold satin and has been there for many many years but is not original to the piece. If you are a collector, consider the very minor spot of wear in one place at a fold near bottom of the piece as easily overlooked for such a fine and rare example of the style. It is in otherwise near perfect shape...promise me you will use this the next time you don your favorite little black dress?! ...not just for display...Offered as found, in excellent condition, as described and shown. c.1900 - 1920's 7" X 10"
