Antique French Hemp or Rough Linen Feedsack

Fabulous for designers (and amateurs too!) ....antique French Hemp or rough linen feedsack has two red and blue stripes down the center of the piece and a charming red and blue monogram, "BM". It is actually one long piece of fabric that has been folded in half and stitched down the long sides to form a tall feedsack that would have held all manner of grain in storage. A French farmhouse essential, these were generally used and reused many times and are quite difficult to find in perfect condition. This one has a small hole below the monogram, but is otherwise in perfect shape. A designer's dream for a bolster as is or could be opened on the sides for a piece of fabric 20" X 114" to be used as you see fit. Color is creamy natural. Excellent condition with one hole, shown below, and freshly laundered. c.1850's - 1900. 20" X 57"
