Antique Embroidered Society Silk Doily
Heavenly Strawberries
Delightfully embroidered linen antique doily has dancing strawberries and luscious green leaves. The edges are double scalloped and beautifully trimmed too, making this a beautiful example of the society silk style. A simple 1/2" repair eluded me until the piece had been soaked and pressed. The repair is still nicely disguised by the embroidered border. A tiny hole and "near" hole are the only other flaws. Useable condition, spotless and worthy of display, freshly laundered and pressed. c.1900 9.5" round
