Sweetest hint of summer strawberries were strewn across this lovely piece of linen and stitched there for us to enjoy....100 years ago
Soft, natural linen is richly embroidered with perfect silk strawberries, blossoms, leaves and stems in the grand realism of a bygone embroidery style. Society silk needlework here is a fine example and is punctuated with an undulating and layered champagne floss, reminding me of fluttering sheets on my mother's clothes line...
A few scattered, small marks and very minor edge bleed are all shown below, but do not detract. Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition. c.1900 15" X 16"..just off-round
