This beautiful design by Constance Leiter, a Vera Marghab protégé and Marghab employee in Kansas City during the 50's, is every bit as charming as any the Marghab firm produced. Constance Leiter started her own line and company after working for the Marghabs and learning the ropes. She traveled to Madeira, Portugal and hire the best embroideresses to execute her designs.
Many years later all of Constance Leiters original patterns were destroyed in a fire so little is known about her work. I am pleased to have previously spoken with her son-in-law who filled me in on some of the history. I was thrilled to discover this pair on a recent buying trip...it is one of the few patterns of hers that I know, called "Bouquet". Charming in every detail from color to stitch selection. Excellent condition, freshly laundered and pressed. c.1930's - 40's 14.75" X 21.75"
