...one of the prettiest towels I've seen...
Someone special designed this towel...with whimsy and an artistic flare for presentation. The translucence of the petals is achieved by appliquéing sheer organdy to the linen as one would a heavier fabric. The sheerness of the organdy gives the petals a natural softness that traditional appliqué can't achieve. I've not seen this technique before but I must say, it is ingenious for creating depth in the appliquéd features. I love this piece...love it..love it...love it!! Heavier white linen is finished entirely by hand, of course! Excellent condition, freshly laundered and pressed. c.1930's - 40's 14" X 19.75"
