Amazing antique diamond damask woven linen towels are splendidly monogrammed by hand, "MS" and finished with hand drawn hems and crochet lace. This medium to heavy weight linen is creamy white and was likely woven by hand....supple, cool to the touch and finer than the most expensive linen of any kind you'll find today. The corner presentation of the monogram often indicated that the piece belonged to the gentleman of the house...imagine!?! One has a small spot of wear, shown below, that is fortunately not at the business end. It is priced accordingly. Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition except for the boo boo, as shown. c.1860's - 1890's 24" X 40"
