Vintage and Antique Linens by Em's Heart Antique Society Silk Embroidered Show Towel with Monogram "Bleeding Hearts" Item Number G22207 Antique linen show towel is embroidered in silk with bleeding hearts and a huge and glorious monogram, "TK". Cream linen is textured and may be home spun, and is finished with hand knotted fringes. The embroidery is simple in execution but lavish in design...Bleeding Hearts are one of my personal favorites and rarely seen on embroidered pieces. This piece was intended to be hung unfolded on a bar so that all of the embroidery would be seen. It might have been called a "splasher" -- a towel that hung on the bar behind a wash bowl and pitcher, whose job it was to protect the wall and it's covering from water splashes during a morning routine. I rarely see these.....and even more rare is the piece with a large monogram and lavish embroidery. This piece is offered as found, in excellent condition with minimal age, as shown. c.1860's - 80's 18" X 52.5" including fringes. Item Sold Antique show towel or splasher with embroidered Bleeding Hearts and large double monogram, "TK" or "KT" $125
