Gorgeous Monogram "W"

A stunning hand embroidered monogram "W" is just a whisper of how it used to be on this antique linen gentleman's hanky. Marked in the center with indelible ink is the name of the original owner, "S. S. Wagner". These were usually sold in lots of a half or full dozen. Imagine! How wonderful that this one has survived in perfect condition! Creamy white linen is finished by hand with drawn hems...but the monogram is the show stopper...fabulous work is punctuated with tiny needlelace inserts were too small to capture with my "made for close-ups" lens!! Masculine, complicated, perfect. Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition. c.1880's - 1910. 16" square
