Antique finest linen lawn is richly embroidered with leaves, bows, flowers and a splendid layered royal monogram topped with a coronet. Imported from France, this piece was likely embroidered in Switzerland and was commissioned for royalty. Notice the variety of fillings inside each of the little flower centers. The layered triple monogram has me stumped...I see many possibilities, even after using my "deciphering" rules....'TDC" is what I've settled with, surname "D". Genuinely historical and extraordinary piece. If your bride considers herself a princess, I don't think the initials will matter, do you?! Many fine old repairs, freshly laundered and pressed and in good condition for it's age. c.1800 -- Late 18th to early 19th century 15.5" X 16"
