Antique home spun natural linen towels were originally part of a larger set, each marked with a turkey red monogram indicating these were personal linens, and numbered so they could be rotated to minimize wear. A corner mark was often used for gentlemen's linens so these might have been shaving or wash towels for "him". Clearly, a labor of love from start to finish, these are a treasure from a bygone way of life....she spun the linen and embroidered the towels...he shaved the old fashioned way and used them each and every time. But any vintage kitchen would be lucky to have them today...Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition. c.1870's - 90's 16.25" X 38.5"
