Antique Black Organdy Embroidered Lace Flounce

This is a beautiful piece of old machine embroidered organdy that I believe was once a collar. I am calling it a flounce because of the ruffled length of it and because the shape lends it to many other decorative uses. The organdy is extremely fine and does have a few tiny thin spots that were nearly impossible to photograph, see below. You can't see them unless you look hard while holding it up to the light. The embroidery work is exceptional, the design elegant. The seam on the top piece has come loose and needs a couple of stitches. This was also difficult to photograph because it is so hard to see. This is a great designer piece -- light and airy and unique. c.1910's 40" X 9.5"
