Antique Normandy Lace Doily

How sad to be worn so, but rather charming and befitting her age....this antique Normandy lace doily or dresser cloth has been used and loved through the years. Though it appears so, it is not fragile but does have two tiny holes in the lace and a shabby appearance to the center embroidered panel. It is spotless, though, and has been freshly laundered and pressed. The embroidered net panels are a great example of fine old net lace. Note creamy color in final photo. Handmade Valenciennes lace insets and outer edge finish the piece. Good but shabby condition. c.1890 - 1900 9.5" X 13"
