Antique Irish Crochet Lace Jabot

Ayershire Whitework Embroidery

Item Number L06406

Oh my, heavenly days!  Can you imagine having an occasion to wear this amazing piece?  Antique Irish crochet lace has been artfully worked with 19th century whitework embroidery on linen to form a stunning formal lace jabot.  Boning stays hold the collar upright...three tiny mother-of-pearl buttons fit through handmade loops at the back of the neck to hold it in place.  A small spot of wear above one of the stays, shown below, is the only flaw.  Victorian needlework artistry at it's best...collectable, wearable.  Amazing!  Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition, as described.  c.1880's - 1910.  13" neck, 14" long
