Fabulous embroidered net lace and linen sleeves are beautifully adorned with fine Ayershire whitework in a rose and leaf pattern that is richly varied and extends well into the net. The embroidered linen appliqué follows the pattern upward and finishes at the wrist in a perfect "v" formed by an embroidered leaf falls over the back of the hand....oh, soooo romantic!
Each piece is finished with Valenciennes lace at the cuff and top. One sleeve has opened a bit along the seam and needs to be re-sewn....originally intended as an accompaniment to a wedding day ensemble. Cream with age will lighten to creamy white when soaked....an extraordinary piece of hand embroidery and antique costume history.
