Antique hand made Valenciennes lace collar with applied antique Ayershire whitework represents a century or more of fine hand lace and embroidery work that were combined about 100 years ago into this adorable collar. The white work is likely c.1800 - 1850....the hand made Valenciennes lace, c.1850 - 1900. The collar was likely made at the turn of last century by a frugal seamstress....sooo completely charming, but a very fine piece of work as well. Freshly soaked, in excellent condition except for the snag, shown below. c.1900 2" X 16"
