How close did I come to not giving this piece up once I place it on my pretty Victorian dress form, you ask?? I don't want to talk about it...sniffle...
Gorgeous antique Ayrshire embroidered whitework collar is in near perfect condition and appears to have not been used. Shown below with my antique silver mourning brooch from a slightly later period (WOW!), this piece is entirely hand worked in a paisley inspired pattern that was enormously popular in the early to mid 19th century. Just beautiful....Excellent condition, freshly laundered and pressed. c.1840's - 1860's 4" X 15"(inside neck measurement)
