Fabulous foliage embroidered and appliquéd organdy vintage mats set defines the Madeira embroidery tradition with it's perfect design and execution on the finest of materials. Leaves in appliqué are neatly repeated on organdy, adding drama, depth and elegance to this marvelous set.
The organdy is a palest creamy white..."eggshell" white. It is close enough to be mixed with a smaller set of the same pattern, M11607, which is a bit darker, more of a creamy winter white or light beige. The embroidery is the same darker shade on both sets. The two sets were originally used together -- she had a very long banquet table and one of those dreamy large dining rooms too, no doubt!.
