Antique Linens by Em's Heart Antique French Linen Tablecloth and Napkins set Monogrammed "PT" Item Number M12807 Heavy antique French linen damask tablecloth and matching napkins are each fabulously monogrammed "PT" with over-embroidered flowers and leaves in grand French Rembourré style. Linen damask is cream in color and would have been referred to as "half bleached" in antiquity....kind of a warm cream that forms a perfect ground for the lighter embroidered monogram. The damask pattern turns the corner on both the napkins and the tablecloth to form a thick floral border that surrounds the center field. The double monogram is repeated on the tablecloth at both ends and is slightly smaller on the napkins. The hems are "turned up" and finished by machine in a European style that is quite common and forms a sturdy and decorative border on two sides....sooo French! I believe this was done to simplify the ironing process...Superior hand embroidery and design, imported from France and offered freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition, as shown. c.1890's - 1920 Item Sold Tablecloth 65" X 93" 11 Napkins 27" X 34" Antique French linen tablecloth and napkins (11) set, monogrammed "PT" $695 set
