Rare and beautiful Madeira embroidered Marghab placemats and napkins are ever-so white linen with white embroidery in the "Fire" pattern. These are so perfect they look chiseled instead of embroidered -- a close look reveals why Vera Marghab's designs were considered the best of Madeira embroidery during most of last century. This design reflects the finer points of a stylized fire image that crisply sits atop the linen. Nearly perfect with minor age on three pieces, which will launder. Exceptional for the collector, but I reeallly hope you will use them! Offered as found, in excellent condition. c.1940's - 50's 12 Napkins -- 17" square 12 Mats -- 12" X 18"
