Two very small holes on one, and a very few broken threads in the needlelace are hardly noticed for the glorious presentation and hand needlelace monograms....I just can't bring myself to call them "shabby".....
These enormous dinner napkins were once part of a much larger set...imagine?! A triple monogram in Italian needlelace adorns the center of each on finely pebbled damask that is finished with hand drawn hems all around. Two small holes on one napkin, shown below, are flaws of note...dare we call them "shabby"?...but really, would you ever call your dignified great, great grandmother shabby??...a very special pair, indeed...and worthy of your tender loving care as you use, use, use them! Freshly laundered and pressed, in pretty darn good condition for their age, don't you think?? c.1870's or so 30" X 35"
