Vintage linen cocktail napkins were made by hand in Madeira by the Marghab embroidery firm. Marghab embroidered linens are widely considered to be among, if not the best hand embroidered table linens of the 20th century. This set, embroidered on finest pearl gray linen, was embroidered with the whimsical pattern, "Knight" which depicts a parade bedecked knight in full armor and riding a horse. The set has been used but is in near perfect condition (one shown below in a close-up has a very faint tiny gray mark and is the only one with an issue) and has been freshly laundered and pressed. c.1949 -- 1976 5.25" X 8.25"
