When I found this set several years ago I asked myself how long it would be before I saw another one. I haven't since and believe me, I've looked....
This delectable creamy white Italian linen damask is finely woven in a pattern of lilies and Lily of the Valley -- Splendidly detailed, wispy and feminine...but formal and elegant too. Every detail was considered. Half the napkins have a gray mark here or there from the original manufacture or age. I laundered one to be sure this was not permanent -- I am happy to report it is not. The color came up several shades to a creamy "expensive" white. I am happy to launder the rest for a small additional fee (please inquire) but I thought you might like to enjoy the sight of original turn-of-the-century "Made in Italy" labels on each of the remaining 11. These are fabulous, crisp, heavy with that wonderful ancient calendar glaze that makes them slick to the touch...too bad it washes away with the first laundering! A worthy investment...Offered as found, in excellent unused condition. c.1890
