Finest pink linen cocktail napkins are each embroidered with slender, new blossoms and pea pods and finished with tiny Spring green hand embroidered scallops. Completely charming and gorgeously hand worked, this set has puzzled me for nearly three years....It is certainly the work of the finest of Madeira and possess the whimsy of Marghab.
If I had to guess the designer I would say these are the work of Constance Leiter, a former Marghab employee who ventured off to start her own Madeira embroidery firm...just a hunch, though. A small near hole on one is the only flaw, shown below. Offered in excellent condition, except for one, freshly laundered and pressed. c.1950's - 60's 8 cocktail napkins 5" X 7"
