Monogrammed "P" on "Thistle" Damask

Fab antique linen Thistle damask napkins are hand hemmed and machine monogrammed with a simple "P". The monogram was likely a much later addition...certainly in the last 40 years. Creamy white, crisp antique linen damask is quite vivid and each napkin is hand hemmed...I admit I was sad when I saw the monogram...oh, it's not horrid. It's not even that bad. But I've become such a "hand embroidered" purist that I just felt, well, disappointed. Why would someone do such a thing to such fabulous old linen?? Ok. I'm done whining now. The linen is beautiful and they in excellent condition...and a nice, large size. Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition. c.1900 - 1920 24" X 25"
