Imagine a gift so full of love that it took many, many hours to create...have those days of sacrificial loving gone by the wayside? This kind of work means so much more to me than just a sweet set of napkins. My own "forest" way of thinking (forest vs. trees...) can't resist considering the way of life and mindset that these represent. Shall we take them and consider a home made meal at our own table, set just for family, with one of these symbolic gems at each place? Shall we open the cook books, shop for ingredients, take an afternoon to cook and then sit and enjoy each moment, each bite?... savor them...they are beautiful.
Charming antique linen napkins are embroidered in one corner of each with a clover swag tied up in a bow. The hand monogram "M" is a bit naive in execution but this makes me smile as it means they were done at home. This set made me pause and think.... Wonderful! Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition. c.1890 - 1920 14.75" square, an "anytime" size in this modern world!
