A parade of jubilant cherubs play tambourines whilst one brave soul rides on the back of a proud leopard on these amazing antique linen figural damask napkins. Of the most detailed I've seen, this is surely a double damask. By increasing the number of threads, the weaver can greatly enhance the detail and depth of the pattern.
Ribbons flutter from tambourines and cymbals crash...oh, be still my heart!! Creamy white linen is medium to heavy weight and finished with hand sewn hems. For the collector and lover of cherubs...The best... Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition. c.1900 - 1920 28" square
