Antique finest cotton layover sham is simply adorned with nun's pleats and an edge of whitework embroidered lace. The monogram of whimsical Victorian design is formed by sewing cotton braid to the fabric on a pre-marked or drawn pattern. The result was a bold and three dimensional form that had it's own unique character. This monogram is equally happy as an "M" or a "W"..it's up to you. A few scattered holes, shown below, are flaws of note. Freshly laundered and pressed, in good to excellent condition. c.1890 - 1920's 31.8" X 36"
