Antique fine linen shams are simply adorned with crochet lace and hand embroidered Arts and Crafts style monograms, "MC" or "MG" in white floss. Cream linen is medium to light weight and in excellent condition except for a tiny tear at one corner where the back attaches to the front. I forgot to photograph this... The monogram of whimsical design is "crafty" in keeping with the theme and period. These probably started life as layover shams and then were adapted to changing conventions with the addition of a back panel that closes with tiny buttons. Freshly laundered and pressed, in good to excellent condition as described. c.1890 - 1920's 30" X 39" inside area for pillow, 17.75" X 26.5"
There are two matching shams..one was "awol" on the ironing board during this photo session!
