This classic vintage embroidered runner is long enough for a marvelous display on a long table or buffet. The basket embroidery evokes a true vintage feel as it was a common embroidery theme symbolizing abundance and dating from the 1920's through the 40's. This piece is beautifully embroidered, likely in Madeira, and bears the classic layered scallop edge that so often is seen with fine eyelet work. The white linen is a medium weight and spotless. There are several places mostly along the ends were threads are broken in the hems. The worst of these is shown below. Otherwise in excellent condition, freshly laundered and pressed. c.1930's 18.5" X 61"
