Shimmery and beautiful antique society silk embroidered cotton tea cloth was split in half and likely used as runners atop a side board. I purchased these to use in my own home as valances several years ago but chose instead a turkey red embroidered tablecloth, cut to fit and shown below so you can see what can be done with these odd pieces...The work here is not over-the-top but nice shading and variations in the design make it quite desirable for reworking...vivid and crisp reds and greens might also be at home in your holiday decor...yummy! Offered as found, in excellent condition with hems raveling a bit, shown below. c.1900 - 1920's 16.5" X 35"
