Vintage Normandy Lace Runner
Item Number R10407
Lovely vintage French Normandy lace runner has a colorful history** that has been passed down (but we can't "prove" :-) that adds to it's charm and fun. Ever-so feminine French Normandy lace defines the concept of girly-girl-ness by including three of the most important elements -- embroidery, linen, and lace (the final two being sparkles and pink, of course). This delightfully long runner was intended for a ladies dresser top but would be just wonderful on your finest dining table. Two tiny snags in the outer lace edge are the only flaws, shown below. Excellent condition, freshly laundered and pressed. c.1920's 16" X 42"
**All of the pieces in this collection, including the magnificent bed cover, S19107, were purchased from the granddaughter of a woman who was the personal assistant to Florenz Ziegfeld during the 1920's, founder of the Broadway show, the Ziegfeld Follies. Family tradition has it that this set and the French ribbon embroidered bed cover, S19007, were gifts from him.
