Antique French Metis sheeting is a blend of linen and cotton and possesses the best qualities of both fibers...the cool and drape of linen for great sleeping, and comfort and durability of cotton.
This gorgeous sheet is a high linen content French Metis in ever-so-white medium weight for an exceptional hand. But really...scroll down for a look at the best part if you haven't already....the gloriously embroidered monogram "LP" is richly layered and entwined with shafts of wheat in a theme of abundance and harvest. The embroidery is deeply padded and layered forming a three dimensional and highly durable monogram....but of course, with French monograms, size does matter, and this one is deliciously huge....can you stand it??! The white linen blend is crisp and smooth, tightly finely woven, and quite substantial. A row of Venetian drawn work finishes the piece. Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition with one lightly discolored thread near the half-way point, shown below, and a gray speck. c.1900 93.5" X 116" Monogram -- ap.14" X 16"
