with Net Lace Ruffles

Most special hand embroidered vintage silk baby blanket and matching sham was likely made as a special gift for a very special baby. Hand embroidery is somewhat unpracticed but more charming for it's lack of perfection. A bit of age will likely soak out, though you might prefer to have this set cleaned. The silk backing is imprinted at the selvedge "Skinner TRUHU", showing through backwards but still legible. TRUHU is a brand of washable silk that was available in the 1930's. Edges are scalloped by hand and finished with ruffled net lace. Cherubically sweet! Offered as found, in excellent condition but needs to be laundered. c.1930's Blanket -- 25" X 29.5", including ruffles Sham -- 12.5" X 15" not including 1.75" lace
