Imported from France, this fine Metis (linen and cotton blend) sheet and shams set is beautifully embroidered by hand in the style made famous by the Porthault Embroidery firm, linen suppliers to royalty through out the world. A very fine chain stitch is worked by hand in various colors to give each form depth and realism. These pieces were likely commissioned but have seen little use through the years. A very few minor age marks are the only flaws, shown below. Cheerful lavender is so fun...Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition. c.1940's - 60's Sheet 84" X 117" 2 Euro shams 23.5" square inside, plus 2.25" flange all around
