Large and drapey ever-so-white antique linen sheet is hand monogrammed "N" on one corner that sits above a tiny "36". The number was used for inventory purposes so that pieces could be rotated to minimize wear. Imagine having 36 of these?! My, my, my. It must have been an amazing home! This piece would have been used as a bottom sheet on a large bed and now can be used however you like. Bottom sheets were just larger flat sheets that were tucked in all around. They were minimally marked, usually with a simple monogram on one corner.
Whether on the top or the bottom, this amazing sheet is large enough for a King size bed. The linen is medium to heavy weight, clear of flaws and pristinely white. Soft and finely / densely woven for a fabulous drape. You'll love it, I assure you! Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition. c.1900 - 1920 each sheet measures 118" X 136"
