Magnificent Hand Embroidered Lace and Monogram, "AG"

Antique French linen top sheet is gloriously embroidered across the top and a bit down the sides with flowers and foliage. The yummy creamy white French linen is medium to heavy weight and is the perfect weight for a cooler weather sheet or summer bed cover. The fabulous monogram "AG" is quite large and a wonderful example of the French "rembourré" style (rembourré is French for "padded")...all done by hand. Detailed cutwork and embroidery is primarily executed of buttonhole stitch with occasional filling stitches. Feminine, beautiful and perfect....a delightful work of art...I could find no flaws. Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition. c.1900 - 1920's sheet -- 93" X 133" monogram 6" X 11"
