Perhaps I've just made your day?! Astoundingly beautiful dinner plate sized tulips in full bloom form the inner border of this magnificent antique linen and silk damask tablecloth. Linen and silk is a luxurious combination that produces the finest hand and drape, and is remarkably durable. The four corners are elaborately adorned with joyous arabesques, like an elegant rococo frame. Stunning botanical details are many ...a few are shown below. You will want to throw this piece on the table the moment it arrives...brew a pot of tea and take an hour or so to enjoy it.
Deep hems are finished with a row of hemstitching and an elaborate border of Venetian drawnwork. Hand woven antique damask of this quality is rare...elegance befitting the table it will sit upon, superior quality. Excellent condition with a single pin dot of age and a 2mm darn which I could not find to photograph. Freshly laundered and pressed. c.1890's - 1920's Banquet size -- 89" X 228"
