Antique linen society silk embroidered supper cloth is sweetly monogrammed, "I" and finished with Rococo embroidered drawn lace panels and hand drawnwork hems. A simpler inner border is punctuated by the Olde English "I" hand monogram that sits at one corner of the piece. Embroidery is done entirely in Champagne silk on cream linen...the use of directionality of stitch and layering produced the realism sought after in this style of embroidery. Nearly perfect, with two faint dots of age, shown below, that will launder. A delightful piece, and perfect square which makes it useful on a round table too. Freshly laundered and pressed, in excellent condition. c.1880's - 1900 66" square
