Tea Cloth, "Pink Roses and Mums"

Finest antique linen tea cloth is beautifully embroidered in the society silk style with two pink roses and a scattered petal that are surrounded by dancing white shaggy mums and over-the-top Venetian drawnwork. On just the right table (a drop leaf gait leg in oak with barely twist legs??) and placed on the diagonal, the roses and petal would be centered on the top while the corners and mums would drape down in front...oh, MY! Close your eyes...can you see it???
Lovers of society silk will notice the leaf veins and fallen curled petals as classic naturalistic elements of the style. There is a faint age spot and several others, shown below, that may very well launder. Offered as found, in excellent condition as shown and described. c.1890 - 1920 35" X 38"
