Unusual antique silk embroidered panel was originally intended as a pillow cover but would be fabulous framed and hung in your perfect vintage villa. Cherries are a rare subject for society silk embroidery, but what really makes this piece stand out is the way the basket has been "woven", an effect that was achieved with a simple change of direction of the stitching. A wee bit naive, but a charming, charming piece with all the vintage "bells and whistles" -- jadite green, cherries, harvest theme.... An old age mark near the bottom of the embroidery can be ignored but may soak away. Offered as found, in excellent condition. c.1900 -- 1930 17" X 22"
