Called "Cardinal" cloths in antiquity, these amazing and vivid Victorian cotton turkey red damask tablecloths are the epitome of the era's style and character...over-the-top elegance and thoughtful details, down to the light and dark green woven Greek key border and embedded central damask pattern.
These sought after pieces are rarely found in good condition and fringes are never "good"...need I say, the fringes here are in excellent condition! Various marks of age are shown below and will likely soak away, but several ancient black ink spots are there for all eternity, also shown. Two or three very small holes are notable...the worst is shown. As you can see, these can be easily ignored for the grand pattern in the vivid damask. Oh, my!! Offered in excellent condition with with consideration for rarity and age. c.1880's - 90's 66" X 80"
